Laboratory
Welcome to the Granite County Medical Center Laboratory, your home town location for all your clinical laboratory needs! We invite you to utilize all the services we have to offer, from wellness screenings to anticoagulation monitoring. We are honored to serve you.
Our lab accurately produces, sensitive, and specific results using new age technologies to guide clinical decision making. Approximately 70% of medical decisions come directly from lab results, so it is the role of our laboratory professionals to work together with your healthcare providers so they can make the correct diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment. Through this partnership, the overall cost of testing and patient care is controlled and the quality of care is improved.
We offer several essential testing options right here in Philipsburg;
however, we work in tandem with LabCorp Diagnostics to provide you with test results for any lab work your provider deems necessary. Whether you see one of our talented medical providers here at GCMC or you receive specialty care through another facility, find comfort in knowing that your home town laboratory can meet your needs. There is no need to drive to Missoula, Butte, or Anaconda in the early morning to have fasting blood work drawn; simply bring the lab order from your provider or have them fax your order to 406.859.6526 and call to schedule an appointment for the date and time that works best for you.

Annual Wellness Lab Work:
In an effort to better serve our community, we have decided to transition away from the yearly health fair method of offering reduced cost, annual screening labs. We will continue to offer screening labs in our facility, in conjunction with your annual wellness visit. This gives patients access to more preventative services and screening tests right here at home! For those individuals who don’t carry an insurance policy, we will still offer reduced rates for your yearly preventative lab work and wellness visit, during your birth month. Everything will remain the same in the way your labs are processed- right here in your hometown laboratory. However, instead of only offering labs at only once a year at the yearly health fair, you, the patient, will have the choice to come into the facility, at your convenience, during the month of your birth for your annual wellness visit and blood testing at the same reduced cash price. For individuals who carry an insurance policy, your preventative services will be billed through your insurance. We recommend transitioning your yearly wellness visits to coincide with your birth month to make keeping track easier, but this is not a requirement. Also keep in mind, we now offer a Patient Portal where, upon request, your lab results, visit notes, etc. can be accessed online at your convenience. (Simply provide your email address during registration at your next visit and you will receive instructions on how to access to your secure health information.)
